OBJECTIVE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

        The SSAM Scholarship Program aims to assist deserving students to set foot in St. Scholastica's Academy of Marikina and have access to quality Benedictine education.

GENERAL PROCEDURE FOR ENTRY

        All requirements will be submitted to the Registrar for assessment. Acceptance of applicants will depend on the approval of the committee, in consultation with the Directress.

TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIP

A. SSAM DISCOUNT IN TUITION FEE – – a scholarship given to an applicant who graduated Top 1 or Top 2 in Grade Six from SSAM or other schools, and has passed the SSAM requirements for admission.
CRITERIA
The applicant:
     •     graduated Top 1 or Top 2 in Grade Six (from SSAM, or other schools);
     •     undergo and pass the screening for new students.
REQUIREMENTS
     •     Parent/s' application letter for scholarship;
     •     Original and photocopy of final report card;
     •     Original and photocopy of baptismal and birth certificate;
     •     Four (4) pcs. 2" x 2" ID picture, colored, with complete name tag;
     •     Certificate of Graduation with Honors from the Grade School Principal;
     •     Accomplished SSAM forms;
     •     Recommendation Letters (one from the previous school, one SSAM Guidance Recommendation form);
     •     Interview;
     •     Written examination.
BENEFITS
Top 1 - 100% discount on tuition fee for one school year (10 students)
Top 2 - 50% discount on tuition fee for one school year (5 students)

B. SSAMJHS ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP - a scholarship grant that is offered to incoming Grade 8, 9, and 10 students of SSAM who met the academic and conduct requirements based on the year-end average rating indicated in the report card of the previous school year (Grade 7,8, or 9), and is not a recipient of any scholarship/benefit.

CRITERIA
The applicant:
     •     top three in Grade 7, 8, or 9 at the end of the previous school year;
     •     incoming Grade 8, 9, or 10 student from St. Scholastica's Academy Marikina;
     •      has a grade not lower than 90% in CLE and 90% in other subjects every quarter, and must have a final rating of
             not lower than 92% in all subjects every end of the school year;

     •     has an average conduct grade of A or A- every quarter, and no conduct grade lower than A- in any criterion, in any
           quarter, every school year;
     •     actively involved in extra and co-curricular activities, with an ECA grade of not lower than 90% every quarter, and a
            final rating of 92% every end of the school year;

     •     not a recipient of any scholarship/benefit.

REQUIREMENTS
     •     Parent/s' application letter for scholarship;
     •     Accomplished SSAM Scholarship Application Form;
     •     Certificate of Batch Ranking
     •     One (1) pc. 2"x 2" ID picture, colored, with complete name tag;
     •     Original and photocopy of the recent report card.

CONDITIONS FOR MAINTAINING THE SSAMJHS ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP
To keep the scholarship until Grade Ten, the applicant:
     •     • top three of the grade level every end of the school year;
     •     not have a grade lower than 90% in CLE and 90% in other subjects every quarter, and must have a final rating of
            not lower than 92% in all subjects every end of the school year;
     •     has an average conduct grade of A or A- every quarter, and no conduct grade lower than A- in any criterion, in any
           quarter, every school year;
     •     actively involved in extra and co-curricular activities, with an ECA grade of not lower than 90% every quarter, and a
           final rating of 92% every end of the school year;
     •     not a recipient of any scholarship/benefit;
     •     scholarship shall be on a yearly basis.

Note: Those who cannot keep the academic and conduct requirements will be informed of the termination of the scholarship at the end of the school year.

Those who will file a withdrawal/drop out during the school year will be required to pay fifty percent (50%) of the tuition fees that are not covered by the JHS ESC Program.

BENEFITS
Top 1          – 100% discount on tuition fee, renewable every school year
Top 2          – 75% discount on tuition fee, renewable every school year
Top 3          – 50% discount on tuition fee, renewable every school year

C. SSAMSHS ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP - a scholarship grant that is offered to incoming Grade 11 students of SSAM who met the academic and conduct requirements based on the year-end average rating indicated in the report card of the previous school year (Grade 10), and is not a recipient of any scholarship/benefit.

CRITERIA
The applicant:
     •     top five in Grade 10 at the end of the previous school year;
     •     incoming Grade 11 student from St. Scholastica's Academy Marikina;
     •     not a recipient of any scholarship/benefit.
REQUIREMENTS
     •      Parent/s' application letter for scholarship;
     •     Accomplished SSAM Scholarship Application Form;
     •     Certificate of Batch Ranking
     •     One (1) pc. 1" x 1" ID picture, colored, with complete name tag;
     •      Original and photocopy of the recent report card.

CONDITIONS FOR MAINTAINING THE SSAMSHS ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP
To keep the scholarship until Grade Twelve, the applicant:
     •      top five of the grade level every end of the school year;
     •      not have a grade lower than 90% in Theology and 90% in other subjects every quarter, and must have a final rating                of not lower than 92% in all subjects every end of the school year;
     •      has an average conduct grade of A or A- every quarter, and no conduct grade lower than A- in any criterion,
            in any quarter, every school year;
     •      actively involved in extra and co-curricular activities, with an ECA grade of not lower than 90% every quarter, and a
            final rating of 92% every end of the school year;
     •      not a recipient of any scholarship/benefit;
     •     scholarship shall be on a yearly basis.

D. SSAM SHS ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP - a scholarship grant that is given to Grade 11 qualified students from the
     public schools of Marikina to have access to quality Catholic Benedictine education.

QUALIFICATIONS
     •     A Grade 10 Completer in a public school
     •     General Average of at least 88% with no grade in any subject below 85% in Grade 8 – 10
     •      Has passed the entrance examination and interviews of SSAM
     •      Attendance in a basic Catechism class before the opening of classes which will be facilitated by SSAM
REQUIREMENTS
     •      PSA Birth Certificate
     •      Baptismal Certificate
     •      Certified true copy of Grade 8-9 Report Card
     •      Certified true copy of LATEST Report Card (Form 138/SF9) with the first quarter grades
            - A conduct grade of B+ or 85%
            - Numerical equivalent of letter grades
     •     Copy of the National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE) results (if applicable)
     •      Four (4) pieces of recent 2" x 2" colored ID picture with the complete nametag
     •      Certificate of Good Moral Character (sealed in an envelope with signature across the flap or the school may directly
            email it to ssamregistrar@gmail.com)
     •      Accomplished SSAM Senior High School Information Sheet
     •     Accomplished Student Personal Data Sheet
     •     Accomplished SSAM Student Development Center Recommendation Form sealed in an envelope with a signature
          across the flap
     •     Latest BIR Income Tax Return or any proof of income of parents
     •     Leadership Certification/s (Grade 8 – 10)
     •     Award Certification/s (Grade 8 – 10)
     •     Student Ranking Certification (Grade 9)
BENEFITS

     •      No fees – tuition, miscellaneous and special fees – to shoulder throughout the duration of her
             SHS education in the SHS Department
     •      No application and examination fees to pay for this scholarship program
     •      Free processing of her college application requirements

CONDITIONS FOR MAINTAINING THE SSAM SHS ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP
To keep the scholarship until Grade Twelve, the applicant:
     •      complete the grade-level curriculum requirements at the end of the semester/school year;
     •     not have a grade lower than 88% in Theology and 85% in other subjects every quarter, and must have a final rating of
           not lower than 88% in all subjects every end of the semester/school year;
     •      has an average conduct grade of A or A- every quarter, and no conduct grade lower than A- in any criterion, in any
           quarter, every school year;
     •      actively involved in extra and co-curricular activities, with an ECA grade of not lower than 85% every quarter,
           and a final rating of 88% every end of the semester/school year;
     •      not a recipient of any scholarship/benefit;
     •     attend a Basic Catechism program;
     •     update the Registrar and the batch sponsor regarding her quarterly performance.

Note: Those who cannot keep the academic and conduct requirements will be informed of the status of the scholarship
           after the deliberation of the Scholarship Committee at the end of the school year

Those who will file a withdrawal/drop-out during the school year will be required to pay fifty percent (50%) of the school fees which are not covered by the SHS Voucher Program.

All original and photocopied documents required for submission must be arranged in the order as listed above in a legal size (8 ½ x 14 in.) folder.
IMPORTANT: Submitted documents become property of St. Scholastica's Academy Marikina – Registrar's Office.
