How Jesus loved telling stories!

Father Dan Cansino, MI followed Jesus’ example by telling his own stories about how imperfections in the family can be perfected in love. This is possible through forgiveness and acceptance of one another’s weaknesses. He exhorted parents about their significant role in the family as builders of a community of Christ and for them to value the family more than anything else.

Father Nonong Fajardo, CM also shared the stories of his interaction with the poor. He gave an inspired solution to their miserable existence – obedience to the Seventh Commandment, “Huwag Kang Magnakaw!”  His cultural evangelization and transformational advocacy aims to return the stolen dignity of the Filipino people. He believes that all problems on poverty will be eradicated if everyone practices honesty in all forms beginning in  the home.

Father Dan and Father Nonong were able to touch the hearts of the grade school parents and guardians for this year’s Christian Life Program for Parents (CLP). It was held last September 16 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at the SICC with the theme “The Role of the Family in Building a Community of Christ.” The CLP is an annual event in the Grade School Department spearheaded by the Christian Life Education area under the leadership of Mrs. Catalina Tungol, the CLE Coordinator and Campus Minister.

As one Benedictine family who live and share Christ, everyone is encouraged to always remember how Jesus asked Simon Peter three times, “Do you love me?” Peter replied, “You know all things. You know I love you.” Then Jesus said, “Tend to my sheep.”

The message is clear – STEWARDSHIP.
