Kindergarten and Grade 1 Educational Trip
“Scholasticans! Unite and Ignite Your Passion and Live Up to Your Dream Career”
The Grade School Department aligns it programs with the Student Development Center as it celebrates the Career Guidance Week, the culmination of which is the educational trip to Kidzania Manila. Pupils got to experience their dream jobs in a fun, safe and guided approach.
Pupils, faculty, selected parent chaperones and facilitators lined up to board the buses as early as 5 o’clock in the morning on August 5. The buses left SSAM at 6:00 am to beat the morning traffic. The group arrived at the venue safe and sound. Parents and teachers were as excited as the pupils to enter the play zone. They wished they had the same facility when they were growing up; but, of course, they claimed that nothing beats playing along streets with friends in the neighborhood and made-up toys.
Everyone hardly felt the need for food or beverage. They were so resolved to finish their tasks and move on to the next.
Parents took photos of their own daughters and wards. They also cheered them when they accomplished their assignments. One great thing that they enjoyed best is the bonding they had with the Scholasticans as they move on from one activity to another.
Going back to school was difficult as extending the stay was the common wish of all. However, the trip did not end when they left the departure area of Kidzania. The group still had a rolling tour of significant places in Marikina. They passed by the Riverbanks where the largest shoe in the world is on display, Our Lady of the Abandoned Church, the Sentrong Pangkultura ng Marikina (Kapitan Moy Museum) and the Marikina Shoe Museum. Truly educational trips are venues for wholistic learning outside of the four walls of the classroom.
SSAM would like to thank the faculty, Life Mentors, staff, the parent chaperones, the educational tour provider and the administration for making this experience possible.

Adapted from All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten
By Robert Fulghum
I’m going to have fun; I’m going to see places.
In each one I’ll go, I’m going to get aces.
There are so many things that I will need
To prepare myself, I should know how to read.
I will play fair; I should know how to share,
I won’t hit people so I won’t get into trouble.
I will say “Sorry” if I hurt somebody,
I am praying others will do the same for me.
I will hold your hand, we will stick together.
I am hoping that we’’ll be friends forever.
I won’t take things that aren’t mine,
If you do the same, that will be fine.
Stop, Look and Listen, do these, I must.
And stay close with the people I trust.
The road to success will not be easy,
So I will follow those who guide me.
