ADMISSION OF NEW STUDENTS

ST. SCHOLASTICA’S ACADEMY MARIKINA admits students who are Catholics and whose academic records indicate ability to do quality schoolwork and possess character traits that give promise to be active participants in the Scholastican Community. Thus, the Committee on Admission deliberate on the academic requirements presented, result of written examinations given by the Student Development Center and the interview with the Principal and/or Academic Coordinator (for high school applicants) and Life Mentor (for the grade school applicant).  
All students seeking admission, whether coming from sister schools or others and/or returning as former students who have enrolled elsewhere during the school year, are required to take the Entrance Test – ORAL and WRITTEN. Successful applicants are admitted on a FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVED basis.



All original and photocopied documents required for submission must be arranged in the order as listed below in a legal size (8 ½ x 14 in.) folder. SUBMITTED DOCUMENTS BECOME PROPERTY OF SSAM OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR.

NURSERY

A. 4 years old by August or at least 3 years and 11 months old by July
B. Must undergo the assessment interview
C. Must submit the following documents:  
      NSO/PSA Birth Certificate
      Catholic Baptismal Certificate
      Three (3) pieces of recent 2" x 2" colored ID picture with complete nametags
      Accomplished SSAM Information Sheet and Student Personal Data Sheet (downloadable)

REQUIREMENTS FOR FOREIGN APPLICANTS
AND STUDENTS WITH DUAL CITIZENSHIP

  1. Authenticated academic records
  2. English translation of documents
  3. Certificate of evaluation of academic records by the Department of Education
  4. Passport (with stamps of latest departure and arrival  in the country and current VISA page of both students and parents)

     If with DUAL CITIZENSHIP: Photocopy of Philippine Passport and Certificate of Recognition as a Filipino Citizen
5. Alien Certificate of Registration from the Bureau of Immigration (if any)
6. Documents for the issuance of Special Study Permit (SSP)

Nationality will be based on applicant’s documents presented at the time of the application.

Application Fee: PHP 400

Test results are indicated as QUALIFIED, NOT QUALIFIED or CONDITIONAL STATUS in accordance with the norms of SSAM. These are given to parents/guardians a week after the examination. Test papers are not given out to parents. Additional test may be scheduled by the Committee on Admissions as the need arises.

      Certificate of Good Moral Character (sealed in an envelope with signature across the flap)

     - A conduct grade of B+ or 85%
     - No failing grade in any subject, and in any quarter
     - Numerical equivalent of letter grades
